In this work, I consider self-determination and emotion as a means of work against the problematics of representation that mark language and photography. In Enlarge My Coast, I explored a practice of seeking to push beyond the limits of personal experience, from within the isolation of a long Covid-19 lockdown. Poetically bringing personal reflection and philosophical reading into relation with global events and experiences, I’ve pushed myself into the potential of a ‘shattering’, in every sense of the term.
